BSA was founded by Tony Barnes - a career spent in construction health and safety, on sites, in design meetings, and in the difficult conversations when something hasn't gone to plan. From small refurbishments to £100m+ major builds, across healthcare, commercial and residential.

Social value now counts for at least 10% of most public-sector tenders - and where we're on your project, ours counts towards yours. We treat it as a working part of every engagement, not a marketing line: logged, measurable, and reported against your TOMs framework.

How we contribute →

The next generation. School and college talks, mock interviews and mentoring - pro bono, aimed where construction careers aren't on the usual list.
Community projects. Reduced-fee and pro bono H&S advice for village halls, community centres and charitable schemes that carry the same duties without the budget.
Reserved capacity. A fixed share of our chargeable time is set aside for social value every year - logged with hours, audience and equivalent financial value.

Preston-based, across the North West - nationwide for PD.

Most of our site work sits within about 70 miles of Preston, comfortably covering Lancashire and Greater Manchester. Principal Designer appointments are taken across the country.
